The 2025 season marks a new chapter in the history of the Athletics as they move into Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, CA. After 55 seasons of playing in Oakland at the Coliseum, the A’s moved here temporarily as they work to have a new stadium constructed in Las Vegas, NV. Located in West Sacramento, Sutter Health Park has been the home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats since the ballpark opened in 2000 as Raley Field. It was built at a cost of $46.5M and has a seating capacity just over 14,000. There is one main lower seating deck that stretches from the left field foul pole to homeplate to the right field foul pole. A smaller second deck above contains a club seating area and 36 luxury suites. Grass berms are located behind the left and right field outfield walls. Fans in the main grandstand have great views of the downtown Sacramento skyline and the iconic Tower Bridge behind right field.
The Athletics will play at least three seasons at Sutter Health Park while a new stadium is built in Las Vegas, sharing the ballpark with the River Cats. Prior to the start of the 2025 season, the artificial turf field was replaced with a grass field and a new two story clubhouse and office building for the Athletics was constructed behind left field. The team will be known as the “Athletics” and not have a city name tied to their official club name. Due to the summer heat, the majority of games will be played in the evenings. The Athletics will play their first game at Sutter Health Park on March 31, 2025 against the Chicago Cubs.
