2013 BALLPARK ROAD TRIP GUIDE
|
There is nothing like a great
road trip across the country to see America's
pastime. We have developed 15 different ballpark
road trips that you and your family or friends can
embark on this season. Most trips are based around
the weekend. However some extend into the work week.

Head
to Texas in April to beat the summertime heat!
During the weekend of April 19th-21st both the
Astros and Rangers are at home. See the Astros
during their first season in the American League as
they host the Cleveland Indians. In Arlington, the
Rangers take on Mariners at the Ballpark in
Arlington. |

There
is one weekend during the 2013 MLB season when you
can catch both the Mets and Yankees in town. Check
out the Mets in action at Citi Field during the
weekend of April 26-28th as they battle the
Philadelphia Phillies. The Yankees host the Blue
Jays at Yankee Stadium. There are a multitude of
attractions to visit in the Big Apple including
Central Park, the Empire State Building, Times
Square and the Statue of Liberty!

Take
an extended weekend trip up the Pacific Coast
Highway as you begin your trip in sunny San Diego on
Saturday, May 4th as the Padres host the Arizona
Diamondbacks. Wake up Sunday and drive to Los
Angeles to see the Angels battle Orioles. Monday,
you can see the Dodgers host the Diamondbacks at
Dodger Stadium. You'll have plenty of time to
explore Hollywood and Los Angeles before or after
each game! |

This
is a true baseball road trip as you head to eight
potential ballparks! You can also cut this trip up
if you prefer to only go to half of them. Start your
trip in Pittsburgh to see one of the best ballparks
in baseball, PNC Park, as the Pirates host the Reds
on June 1st. Head to Cleveland the next day to see
the Indians battle Rays at Progressive Field. On
Monday, you'll drive down I-71 to the Queen City to
Great American Ball Park, where Cincinnati will take
on Colorado. The following day you will head North
to Detroit's Comerica Park as the Tigers battle the
Rays. Wednesday, June 5th provides you a day off
from baseball to travel from Detroit to Chicago.
Another off day allows you to check out all the
attractions in Chicago on Thursday. Visit the second
oldest ballpark in baseball, Wrigley Field on Friday
as the Cubs host the Pirates. You'll see the White
Sox host the Athletics on Saturday at US Cellular
Field before heading North to see the Brewers on
Sunday at Miller Park. On Monday you'll drive across
the State of Wisconsin to Minneapolis, MN where
you'll end your trip on Tuesday, June 11th as the
Twins battle the Phillies at Target Field. |

There
is only one time during the baseball season when
both the White Sox and Cubs are in town during the same
weekend. In 2013 that weekend is June 7th-9th . You
can see the Cubs battle the Pirates at Wrigley Field
and the White Sox take on the A's at US Cellular
Field. While in Chicago be sure to visit Navy Pier
for a great view of the Chicago skyline or go up
high to the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower to see
the city from high above.

Another weekend trip where you visit two great
cities in Ohio! Start in the Northeast part of the
state in Cleveland or the Southwest part in
Cincinnati. You'll travel along I-71 to get to
either city. There are two great weekends that you
can see the Indians at Progressive Field and see the
reigning National League Central Champion Reds at Great
American Ball Park. Check out all the exciting new
restaurants along the Banks next to Great American
Ball Park and be sure to visit the Rock N Roll Hall
of Fame in Cleveland before or after the game! |

South Beach here I come! With beaches on both coasts
of Florida, you can see games in Tampa and Miami,
and hit up the beaches during the day! This weekend
trip allows you to begin your journey in either
Miami or Tampa. Watch Marlins battle either the
Cardinals or Nationals and the Rays take on the
Royals or Astros at Tropicana Field. Visit the beach
in Clearwater, FL while in Tampa or South Beach in
Miami where you can enjoy some amazing food and
enjoy relaxing at one of the most beautiful
beaches in the country. |

Start your trip in Phoenix
as you see the Diamondbacks battle the Cincinnati
Reds on June 21, 2013. Take a day's drive to visit
the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas before waking up on
Sunday June 23rd to drive Los Angeles to see the
Angels taken on the Pirates at Angel Stadium. The
following day, see the Dodgers battle their NL West
foe, the San Francisco Giants, at Dodger Stadium.
Take in all the attractions in Hollywood and Los
Angeles before driving down the Pacific Coast
Highway to Petco Park in San Diego for the Padres
game on June 25, 2013 against the Philadelphia
Phillies. |

This three weekend trip
can begin on either side of the State of Missouri.
You begin by seeing the Cardinals play at Busch
Stadium on Friday or start your trip in Kansas City
at Kauffman Stadium watching the Royals. Drive
across the state on Saturday and see Missouri's
other team play on Sunday. Grab some famous BBQ in
Kansas City and check out St. Louis' most iconic

DC you can see some of baseball's youngest stars
during the three day weekend of July 26-28, 2013.
Start your journey on Friday, July 26th in Washington
DC as the Nationals battle the Mets at Nationals
Park. Split Saturday seeing the sites in each city,
walking along the Inner Harbor in Baltimore and
visiting a museum or monument in DC. Enjoy an
afternoon game on Sunday at one of baseball's
classic ballparks, Camden Yards as the Orioles play
the Boston Red Sox. |

Like
teams in New York City and Chicago, it is hard to
find one weekend during the season when both teams
are in town. The San Francisco Giants and Oakland
Athletics are both in town during the three day
weekend of July 26-28, 2013. Check out MLB's most
beautiful ballpark, AT&T Park as the Giants host the
Chicago Cubs. The BART can take you across the Bay
to see the area's other team, the Oakland A's as
they battle the Los Angeles Angels at the O.co
Coliseum. There are plenty of things to do on your
trip to San Francisco including taking a tour of
Alcatraz, finding the best view of the Golden Gate
Bridge or eating some of San Francisco's famous crab
cakes! |

out all of California's MLB ballparks on this trip
that will take you to five stadiums. Begin your trip
on Saturday, July 27th in San Francisco as the
Giants take on the Cubs at the beautiful AT&T Park.
The following day you will go to the other side of
the Bay to see the Oakland Athletics at the O.co
Coliseum. Monday, enjoy a scenic drive South as you
head to Los Angeles. Tuesday's game, the Dodgers vs.
Yankees, at Dodger Stadium may be on the best games
of the year! Tuesday you'll take a short drive to
San Diego and Petco Park before returning to see the
Angels battle the Blue Jays on Wednesday, August
1st. Add an extra day or two to your trip to enjoy
all the attractions in the City of Angels! |

State of Pennsylvania on this trip. Both the
Phillies and the Pirates are at home during two
weekends throughout the baseball season. On August
2nd until August 4th the Pirates host the Rockies at
PNC Park while the Phillies host the Mets at
Citizens Bank Park. If you prefer to wait until the
end of September, check out the Pirates in action
during the weekend of September 20-22 as the Reds
visit Pittsburgh and see the Phillies at Citizens
Bank Park as the Braves come to Philly. You'll
travel across the heart of Pennsylvania on I-76 as
you go from one city to another. Be sure to grab a
Primanti sandwich in Pittsburgh and a Cheesesteak in
Philadelphia! |

out five ballparks on this trip up Interstate 95 on
the East Coast. You'll begin your journey in the
nation's capital as the Washington Nationals host
the San Francisco Giants on August 15th. The next
day enjoy the sites in DC before the 40 minute drive
to Baltimore to see the Orioles take on the Rockies
at Camden Yards on Friday night. On Saturday August
17th you will continue your journey North to see the
Phillies play the Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park.
Sunday you can enjoy a day sightseeing in
Philadelphia or you can drive to New York City.
Monday's game will match the Yankees against the
Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium. You'll wrap up this
trip on Tuesday at Citi Field as the Mets host the
Braves. |

American League Division Series. On Saturday you'll
drive North to Boston where you can spend an evening
exploring Boston before a Sunday afternoon game at
Fenway Park where the Red Sox will take on the White
